Rear view of the motor

Note the blanket and straps over the supercharger, to contain it in case of an explosion. The thin pipes atop the blower are the injectors for the nitromethane and fuel. They pass through blower wet, so if they ignited (by a backfire, say), then the blower explodes, which is bad. These are positive displacement blowers, so if they pump through liquids, (i.e. if the ignition fails and the motor starts filling up with liquid) they tend to fill up and hydraulic the blower right off the top of the motor while destroying the motor in the process. I've seen them fly dozens of feet in the air, so these days they have to be restrained by heavy nylon webbing straps.
