Despite being controlled by the Moors for a long time, this mosque is actually recent, build in the last 20-30 years by King Fahd of Saudi Arabia, who went on a spending spree in the 80s to spread Islam around the world by building mosques. It didn't look busy to us. I am not sure it is even used.
