Flintlock musket and air rifle

The upper piece is a typical flintlock double barreled shotgun of the mid 1720s.

The lower piece is particularly notable. Its a 10mm caliber air rifle. The tubular receiver and fat buttstock are dead giveaways. Sorry for the lousy angle of the picture, but glare was present in other angles. The air rifle is supplied with a tank in the buttstock which was charged with a seperat pump (much like a bicycle pump) to charge it. A ball is loaded in the breech by use of a loading lever that resembles the pan of a flintlock. The "cock" is cocked to set the valve. When the trigger is pulled, the hammer (cock) flies forward, and a metered amount of air is released behind the ball. Several shots can be fired thusly until the reservoir needs recharging.
