Sunrise greets us for our first full day of hunting
Oryx stare back at you from a long way off. This is a zoom of a 70mm lens photo of a Gemsbok (Oryx). He was at least 100m away. Then he ran.
We surprised some Oryx coming around a corner on the roads. They watched for a second, then sprinted under the fence and were gone.
Spotting another group of Oryx, we hop off, Cornie in the lead, Dale with rifle, to pursue the herd to see if there is a good shootable bull in there.
Without windmills and waterwells, human habitation, to say nothing of many animal species, would not be possible in Namibia.
Lots of hoofprints along the road.
Vultures are never a good sign for animals. Something died.

A herd of cattle near the water tanks
This pregnant cow, as well as a warthog, were killed by poachers for the meat, which was then sold presumably in Windhoek.
Corney and Martin look for tracks of the perpetrators. They then tip this information to the Police Anti-Poaching team.
