A view of the factory front

The factory is a historical Amsterdam building, which produced pectin for making jams and jellies, jam and jelly themselves and also dealt with spices. Anne Frank's father Otto was a partner in the business. They were provisioned with food and supplies by two of the secretaries from the firm. None of the factory workers knew of the secret rooms. The girls were educated by way of correspondance courses paid for and mailed by the secretaries.
