They are taking Montpelier down to the original lathing

These laths support plaster. The wood is 200 years old, and was split down from larger timber on site by slave labor. In the restoration process, they are tearing out modernity andmoving all the changes made b the DuPonts (to include moving interior walls!) back to the way they were.
