Damage to the Sherman |
This sherman was knocked out by tank fire 10km from Bastogne near Renuamont. This was a very common occurrence, as the Sherman had only numbers on its side when going against German armor. A weak design with a poor weapon, the Sherman was a step above a deathtrap for most crews. Luckilly most of the crew seemed to survive and returned to Bastogne in 2001.
