My field of view for the first drive. I had maybe 50m into the woods before it dropped into a valley I couldn't see, so fast shooting was needed. I brought my Marlin .45-70 for fast followups and Dead-Right-There killing power.

Drivers will send doggies into the forest to look for animals, and use them to search after the shooting is over for wounded/dead animals.

The whole point of a drive hunt is to get the animals moving, not to get them excited or running. If they walk past the hunter, you get more opportunity to manage the population than sitting in a stand. Otherwise they just sit still and don't move. Even as it is, we saw little game.

The streckanlage, or laying out of the harvest. This is pathetic, only 3 animals between 60 hunters, but sometimes luck is just not with you.
