Ponte Vecchio (Old Bridge), The most famous bridge in Florence |
It escaped the destruction of both World Wars, but this historical bridge goes back to 1345. It is lined with shops, originally butchers, but in 1593 they were removed for something of more royal status like many gold and silversmiths as the bridge connects the Palazzo Pitti to the Palazzo Vecchio.
A lovely Movie of the Arno river and the Ponte Veccio (Old Bridge)
