The Church of Santa Croce |
Begun by the Franciscians in the 13th Century, this church hosts crypts of many notables from Firenze, such as Michelangelo, Machiavelli, Galileo, and Lorenzo Ghiberti (1378—1455). We arrived too late to enter the church this time, but we did get a nice look around the lovely marble facade of the building. Inside is some lovely fresco work by Giotto
