The dual altars of the Basilica

There is the front altar (The Holy), for main services, and behind it is a smaller altar (the Holiest of Holies). This is an adaptation of Jewish traditions, where there is a dual set of altars. The Holiest of Holies is entered only once a year. The priest wears a robe with bells and a rope around his leg. If the bells stop jingling, it is assumed that God has struck him dead (because he was not pure). If anyone went to get him, they would be struck dead, therefore the other priests use the rope to drag the body out.
