These two bolts hold the strut body to the steering knuckle

In the factory strut body the top hole is round and the lower one is slotted, allowing movement back and forth (when the bolts are loose) to allow you to set camber (the angle from vertical that the tire sits). Camber has an effect on handling and also can be adjusted to reduce tire slip in cornering. You can see the brackt that attackhes the brake hose to the car. The new KYB struts have 2 oval holes, making things confusing.
