One of my favorite exhibits |
Here is a Movie of the gallery of sculpture next to where the David resides.
Compared to the 100s of people in the room around the David, there were maybe 10 in this room. Most of these sculptures are plaster preliminary sculptures or casts by 19th century Tuscan artists, used to frame up the details before the whole was executed in marble. Most of the sculptures are commissions from local wealthy patrons.
